Longworth Park

With it's BBQ facilities, play equipment & being only 200 metres from your motel accommodation, the park is the perfect spot for a family picnic.
There is a pool on the edge of the river, perfect for the kids to play in while the 'blokes' take a boat hired nearby out for some fishing.

Karuah Wetlands

Just off the main road, and only about 80 metres from the motel, a sign indicates the start of the boardwalk. The boardwalk goes through bushland where there are Paperbarks, Casaurinas, Cabbage Tree Palms, Lilli Pilli and many other native shrubs and trees. At the end of the boardwalk after crossing Franklin Street, the walk continues along the edge of a thick saltwater mangrove area and eventually leads to the freshwater wetland on the western side of Mustons Road.

wetlands

The area has had over 40 species of birds identified. There are local and migratory birds frequenting the wetland. A pathway has been put in place with educational signs to tell visitors about some of the birds, the bugs found in the water, to show water quality, and the evolution of a wetland. There is seating and a picnic table at the beginning of the pathway.
