From: R.B Stay Date: Aug 2010 Dear Maryanne, My wife and I have been travelling north for more years than I care to remember and I cannot recall staying in a more “inviting” motel than the one you are running in that picturesque little town of Karuah. As indicated to you on the day of our departure I could not fault any aspect of it, from the moment we arrived until our departure we enjoyed everything about the place. Keep up the good work. We will certainly recommend your establishment to all our friends and relatives and it was nice to know we chose just by chance the one that ........ always stay in. I am returning the envelope you left in our door. Please have a drink with it next time you are at the RSL. Just the breakfast alone was double what I had to pay for it. Kindest Regards

It has to be one of the best presented Motels at what one would call very reasonable rates. The proprietors are most helpful and the service is splendid. The room was decorated beautifully and really modernised the whole feel and the padded underlay on the bed was absolutely heaven, it’s the first time ever that I have slept anywhere other than my own bed and felt true comfort and restful sleep. What a lovely little place to have found just off the highway!

The ‘small’ things you have included make it more than a clean & comfortable place to stay, such as the plunger coffee*, decent sized coffee mugs (THANK YOU!), a real doona and the very reasonable alcohol prices.

The personalised service was also a lovely surprise, especially after a long trip with a 5 week old.

We plan to be back a few times this year.

Initially when making the booking, I thought you might baulk at accommodating 10 blokes for a weekend, knowing what some of the younger ones get up to. You never hesitated from the start. Your eagerness to help out with trying to provide an evening meal and accommodating us all together for breakfast was appreciated. I'm sorry we could not do your beautiful breakfast justice and had to leave some behind. The effort you put into arranging the table did not go unnoticed. You were friendly and helpful. Your willingness to provide anything we wanted and especially the lifts to Zorba's in all that rain was greatly appreciated. Everyone had a great time and we will gladly recommend a stay at Karuah Motor Inn to our friends. Hopefully we will see you again at this time next year. It was an ideal location for our visit to Tea Gardens and Hawks Nest and then in the other direction to Nelson Bay. The town is peaceful and the river mouth overlooking Port Stephens is very picturesque. You were friendly and helpful and we found our room well appointed with not just tea and coffee but plunger coffee* and nibbles too! Your willingness to provide plates and cutlery for our excellent seafood takeaway from across the road was appreciated. We will gladly recommend a stay at Karuah to our friends.
